In August, we had a chance to hire Brian Vander Ark, lead singer and songwriter for The Verve Pipe, to come play for us. We had a surprise birthday party for my buddy Richard Willis. I asked him if I could open the show for him and he asked me if I wanted to play some with him. So I learned a few of his tunes that day and we had a wonderful time. And Richard couldn't have been more surprised.
A the end of my short set, I started the Verve Pipe song "Colorful" and after the first verse, Brian came out. Richard's reaction was priceless...and caught on tape. Here are the 4 songs I played with Brian. It was a magical night, one that I'll never forget.
